The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a subsidy from the Australian Government that offers different levels of financial assistance to help cover the cost of childcare for eligible families and will be paid directly to services. How much you receive depends on your individual circumstances. Discovery Bay is under no obligation to estimate or reduce the fees for the families of children enrolled at the centre in advance OR to determine whether they qualify for a fee reduction through Child Care Subsidy. It is the responsibility of the parent / guardian to apply for CCS.

Three things determine a family’s level of Child Care Subsidy:

1) A family’s annual adjusted taxable income determines the percentage of subsidy they are eligible for;
2) An activity test determines how many hours of subsidised care families can access, up to a maximum of 100hrs per fortnight, and
3) The type of child care service determines the hourly rate cap. Discovery Bay Early Learning and Kindergarten is under no obligation to estimate or reduce the fees for the families of children enrolled at the centre in advance OR to determine whether they qualify for a fee reduction under through Child Care Subsidy. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to apply for CCS.

No, all of your child’s meals and snacks are supplied as part of the fees. We have an on-hand qualified Chef who prepares their snacks and meals in a Class 1 kitchen. They also have certified expertise in catering specifically for children and their nutrition.

We are very specific with our procurement practices to ensure the food your child eats is of excellent quality, liaising with butchers and specialist grocers to maintain the highest standards.

Our all-inclusive meals are prepared Halal with vegetarian and vegan options available. We also cater for children’s allergies, cultural preferences, or other dietary requirements.

As a result of the recent pandemic Discovery Bay ELC has been dedicated to maintaining the safety of the children, families, educators and staff attending our service.
